Cruise For A Cause
Cruises are all the same: endless quantities of Ice Cream, God, Pizza, Prayer, Soda, Praise, Soufflés, Worship, Shellfish, Jesus, Desserts, more God….
OK then, so it wasn’t a normal cruise. Once each year, there is a Cruise For A Cause where Christians enjoy some relaxing fellowship together on a cruise ship, listening to inspirational speakers and well known Christian musical artists.
This year our destination was Nassau, in the Bahamas, where we arrived four days after sailing from Florida. Before arriving in port, we were divided into small groups according to our area of interest in mission work, such as ministering in the Prison, Street Ministry, and School Assemblies. We opted to minister to a school assembly, and were assigned an Elementary school on the outskirts of Nassau.

e were very surprised to discover that the Word of God is freely spoken in Nassau schools – much more so than in the United States. When we arrived at the school we were welcomed by a group of kids who had been waiting in the hot sun to see and hear the Good News preached by Jesus. We gave a brief message, and there was a fun presentation by Dave Enns – the ‘Horn Guy’ – who communicates God’s message with a set of bicycle horns (really!). We passed out bracelets to kids symbolizing the Blood of Jesus, and invited everyone to a free concert that evening.
The concert was amazing. Many Christian artists performed including Nicole C. Mullens and Toby Mac. Free stuffed animals were handed out to all the children in attendance, and with over 2,500 Christians involved in the outreach – not including the audience! – it became “The Largest Outreach ever Recorded”. After the concert, over 1,000 people came forward to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and the local missionaries and churches are now working with these new converts.
